The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) – a federal agency that enforces workplace anti-discrimination laws – will publicly post a prerecorded online webinar addressing questions arising under any of the Federal Equal Employment Opportunity Laws and the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic to its website at www.eeoc.gov on Friday, March 27, 2020, according to a press release from the EEOC.

The webinar supplements COVID-19 publications available on the EEOC website. The EEOC will monitor developments and provide assistance to the public as needed.)
The webinar will answer questions about how to respond to the Coronavirus pandemic in light of the federal employment nondiscrimination laws. The prerecorded webinar will address the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, and Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act (GINA), laws the EEOC enforces.
The webinar will supplement the EEOC publications “What You Should Know About the ADA, the Rehabilitation Act, and COVID-19” and the “Pandemic Preparedness in the Workplace and the Americans with Disabilities Act.” The EEOC would like questions to be sent to COVID19.Questions@eeoc.gov for consideration. The EEOC has told employers that the ADA and Rehabilitation Act rules will continue to apply with the Coronavirus. The EEOC has provided guidance that identifies relevant established ADA and Rehabilitation Act principles and answers questions frequently asked about the workplace during Coronavirus-like events. “Coronaviruses are a large family of viruses that are common in humans and many different species of animals, including camels, cattle, cats, and bats. Rarely, animal coronaviruses can infect people and then spread between people,” according to guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Protection (CDC).
